Staff Profiles

Cornerstone is a staff-directed, student-lead ministry. That means that there are many full-time staff on campus to help you as students succeed in your ministry on campus! We are a resource and a backbone here long term so that as students come and go, Cornerstone will maintain the same vision and focus for generations of students that come through UNC. We think that college students are an incredible resource that God can use to change this campus, this city, the country and the world. We are so honored to be a part of what the Lord does through you, the students here at Carolina.

Josh and Erin Smith

Josh and Erin were married in January ’09. They are a great couple and a blast to be around. Erin graduated from UNC in ’03 and Josh graduated from Kansas State. They both have a wealth of experience and we are glad that Josh saw the light blue glow and moved to the South rather than the other way around!

Andrew White

Andrew graduated from UNC in 2009 and is happy to be spending a few more years in Chapel Hill with Cornerstone. If he weren’t on staff, he would probably begrudgingly be working at the family B&B in the NC mountains. Andrew enjoys discovering good music, watching Lost, playing Settlers, and wry jokes about his glasses (not pictured).

Lauren “Talley” Kuell

Talley graduated from UNC in 2011 with a degree in Studio Art and is pumped to remain in one of her favorite places in the world. She just married her best friend, Tom Kuell, in August! She is a transplanted country girl from Albemarle, NC and loves hanging out in the arboretum or the quad. During her senior year at UNC, she painted up for every home football game, revealing her zeal both for creativity and Carolina athletics. If you ever feel the urge to paint, draw, or watch a UNC sporting event of any kind- she’s your girl!

Greek Life

Erin Coomer

Erin Coomer primarily works in the Greek System at UNC. You can find Erin bouncing off most any wall! We all love Erin Coomer. She has lots of energy, but will settle down and go deep with you quickly. She has a passion for girls to walk with God and understand the depth of the goodness of God in their lives. Ask her about her passion for slumber parties and dance music….

Athletes In Action

Mike and Kim Echstenkamper

Mike and Kim have worked at UNC with Athletes in Action (AIA) for over 20 years. They have 4 children, Alisa, Amy, Kristy and Todd. They are one of the neatest families that you will ever meet. You can find Mike at most athletic events or with athletes all over campus.
