Cornerstone is a staff-directed, student-lead ministry. That means that there are many full-time staff on campus to help you as students succeed in your ministry on campus! We are a resource and a backbone here long term so that as students come and go, Cornerstone will maintain the same vision and focus for generations of students that come through UNC. We think that college students are an incredible resource that God can use to change this campus, this city, the country and the world. We are so honored to be a part of what the Lord does through you, the students here at Carolina.
Cornerstone Campus Staff
Miles is the campus director of Cornerstone. Miles and Emme have been on staff with CCC since 1994 years serving in many places including East Asia for two years before settling in Chapel Hill. They have a house-full of kids: two daughters, Camryn (8 yrs. old) and Sadie (6 yrs. old); and a son, Hudson (4 yrs. old). You can find Miles in the local coffee shops meeting with students or hiking and fly-fishing in the mountains with the kids strapped to his back. Emme will easily give you her opinion as to the finest coffee in the area as well and can also be found chasing three kids at Target or the mall most any day!
Josh and Erin were married in January ’09. They are a great couple and a blast to be around. Erin graduated from UNC in ’03 and Josh graduated from Kansas State. They both have a wealth of experience and we are glad that Josh saw the light blue glow and moved to the South rather than the other way around!
Matt graduated from UNC in 2009 after transferring from Appalachian State. He bleeds Carolina blue, even though Duke Hospital saved his life…ask him the story. You can usually find him either playing sports or watching ESPN. Matt is excited to be on staff at a place he loves so much!
Kelly graduated from UNC in 2011 and is thrilled to get to stay at UNC without having to take any classes. When Kelly’s not on campus she is most likely watching “Friends” or attempting her latest DIY project. Kelly loves laughing, Chick-fil-A, country music concerts, and intense prank wars.
Talley graduated from UNC in 2011 with a degree in Studio Art and is pumped to remain in one of her favorite places in the world. She just married her best friend, Tom Kuell, in August! She is a transplanted country girl from Albemarle, NC and loves hanging out in the arboretum or the quad. During her senior year at UNC, she painted up for every home football game, revealing her zeal both for creativity and Carolina athletics. If you ever feel the urge to paint, draw, or watch a UNC sporting event of any kind- she’s your girl!
Emily graduated from UNC in 2010 and couldn’t be happier to get to stay in Chapel Hill with Cornerstone. Emily’s favorite things in life are hanging out in art museums, drinking tea, and learning about people of all different backgrounds. If you want to go shopping, play tennis, or talk through tough questions about life, Emily would love to hang out!
Athletes In Action
Mike and Kim have worked at UNC with Athletes in Action (AIA) for over 20 years. They have 4 children, Alisa, Amy, Kristy and Todd. They are one of the neatest families that you will ever meet. You can find Mike at most athletic events or with athletes all over campus.
Katelyn graduated from UNC in May 2009 and couldn’t bear to leave the wonderful place of Chapel Hill. She loves traveling, meeting people from other cultures, playing sports, salsa dancing and just goofing off with friends. She also loves deep conversations, so if you have a burning questions you’d love to mull over with someone, come and find her!
